Freemasonry is one of the oldest social and charitable organisations in the world whose roots lie in the traditions of the medieval stonemasons who built the great cathedrals & castles in Europe,
It is here that many of the famous elements of Freemasonry find their roots. In the medieval era, stonemasons often travelled around to find work in different locations and to demonstrate their level of qualification, they would use grips, words and signs in order to distinguish themselves from the unqualified builders.
Freemasonry uses these building analogies and whereas in the medieval era, stonemasons wore aprons and gloves to protect themselves while working on shaping rough pieces of stone, today’s Freemasons meet in friendship to work on themselves in a Masonic Lodge, rather than on the rough stones for cathedrals and castles.
Freemasonry has existed in Thailand for over 100 years.
